$9.99
A Museum Quality Art Print of Wilson Hall at JMU in Harrisonburg Virginia for sale by Brandywine General Store.. This grand building was completed in 1931 and sets on top and in the center of the wide, steep incline of the tree lined lawn of the quad, due to the location and the beautiful architecture, Wilson Hall has come to symbolize James Madison University. Completed in 1931 the hall was named after President Woodrow Wilson because on a clear day it used to be possible to see Staunton VA from on top of the tower of this building, which was the birthplace of Woodrow Wilson. A 1,372 seat auditorium is located in the hall and was the first permanent auditorium for the State Teacher's College, administration offices are also located here. Wilson Hall, built of blue limestone rock and red spanish tile roof, marked the completion of the college's original plan for the quadrangle. The Kissing Rock, a large natural stone outcrop sets in front and to the left of the front of Wilson Hall. This scene shows the hall on a cloudy day, with a couple of blue streaks in the sky with students milling around and enjoying themselves on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Picture #162 an original scenic print by Brandywine General Store.
