This scenic landscape shows the beautiful capitol building from the front road and includes the Lincoln statue, the wide walkway and steps, the trees lining the walk and the state sign in front along the road. A blue sky and clouds add to the scene. The sign tells that the "WV Capitol located in Wheeling 1863 moved to Charleston 1870, back to Wheeling 1875 and finally back to Charleston in 1885. It was located 2 miles west until destroyed by fire in 1921. Present building was completed in 1931". Picture #395 an original West Virginia photographic print by Brandywine General store.
