A Reproduction H. Lachambre Balloon Advertising French Lithograph
A Museum Quality Reproduction of a H. Lachambre Balloon French Advertising Lithograph for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our premium, archival artwork of the ad shows two men in a basket of a big yellow balloon flying through the air. This ad was most likely an advertisement for Henri Lachambre who manufactured balloons in Vaugirardia, a section of Paris, France and was done sometime during the period of 1880 to 1890. Lachambre was a balloonist himself and avidly participated in this early sport, having completed over 500 ascents during his lifetime. His company supplied balloons to the United States Signal Corps and the ill fated Arctic mission of S. A. Andree in 1897. Picture #64
