McArthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park is the 2nd oldest state park in California. This park offers camping, fishing, water sports, hiking and horseback riding. The main attraction of this park though is Burney Falls which are located at the entrance of this 910 acre park. Underground springs combine to form Burney Creek which falls around 129 feet to form Burney Falls, this water then flows into Lake Britton. This park was name after Samuel Burney and the McArthur Family who were both pioneer families who arrived here in the late 19th century. Descendants of these families purchased the property and presented it to the state in the 1920s to save it from development. Picture #63
