Oglebay Hall at WVU a Side View Art Print
A Museum Quality Print of Oglebay Hall at WVU a side view for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our scenic landscape shows a side view of this downtown campus building of West Virginia University. Shrubs, flowerbeds, brick walls and wrought iron fence are all visible which lends to making a nice scenic print. Oglebay Hall was built in 1918 to house the WVU agricultural sciences program. This long and narrow Beaux Arts structure anchors the north section of the downtown campus. The name of the building is engraved above the front entrance above four massive Roman Doric columns, which is the view most often associated with this classical building. In 1962, the mast from the battleship USS West Virginia, sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor in World War II, and the bell from the armored cruiser of the same name were mounted in front of Oglebay Hall. Picture #449 an original archival photographic print by Brandywine General Store.
