St. Francisville Oakley Plantation Parlor art print
A premium quality art print of Parlor in Oakley Plantation in St. Francisville, LA for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our archival photographic artwork shows this beautiful room in the Oakley Manor House with a card or game table in the center complete with spittoon setting on the floor. A large glass door bookcase and secretary are also in the room along with a portrait hanging over the fireplace. John James Audubon spent a few months here in 1821 painting the birds of Louisiana, completing 32 of his famous paintings for his great portfolio book The Birds of North America, which today is worth way more than the plantation house, furnishings and the land. Picture #235 a print made from a picture in the Highsmith collection.
