1917 Washington License Plates
An antique pair of 1917 Washington Passenger Car license plates, this was only the 2nd year the WA DMV had issued plates for the state. The color is a rare color for a license plate, it is lavender with white lettering, at the left is the state abbreviation WN and at the right is x 17, which means a passenger vehicle for 1917. The Department of Motor Vehicles registration number for this early scarce set is 16273. The backs of these tags have a lot more of the lavender paint left on them than the front. These are excellent candidates for restoration for your antique 1917 Ford Model T or Chevrolet to use as YOM or year of manufacture. Before buying for this purpose, please check the YOM laws of Washington. These will grade good, they have faults with the paint, however they are still very solid with no extra holes or breaks, the metal is very heavy. The picture shows the actual pair of 1917 Washington License Plates that are for sale at Brandywine General Store.
