1947 Massachusetts License Plate
A 1947 Massachusetts car single license plate for sale by Brandywine General Store. The 47 MA DMV auto tag is green with white, the expiration date is at the top. The MA department of motor vehicles only issued single tags for the state's motorists during the model year of 1947, they also made about 10% of the plates out of aluminum instead of steel, the aluminum plates were the last run manufactured. Seems as if the state ran out of steel to use in the license plate production this year, maybe due to the lingering effect of the steel shortage during WWII.
