Caravaggio - The Sacrifice of Isaac art print

This is the title of two paintings by the artist, this is the Princeton version. There is confusion about this painting of when it was painted and if it was even painted by Caravaggio. The scene depicts the moment in time when Abraham is ready to sacrifice his son Isaac in obedience to God's command, but as he is ready to do the sacrifice an Angel appears with a ram for Abraham to sacrifice instead of his son.
