Cr #01 Columbia SC Obsolete five dollar Revenue Bond Scrip 1872
An obsolete five dollar Revenue Bond Scrip issued in 1872 for the Blue Ridge Railroad Company from Columbia South Carolina for sale by Brandywine General Store. Criswell designated this obsolete currency as #1 without the 0 in front, but we had to include the 0 in the title to get the bills to appear in correct order. This obsolete currency was issued to relieve the state of SC of all liability for its guarantee of the bonds of the Blue Ridge Railroad Company, by providing for the securing and destruction of the same and dated March 2, 1872. The serial number is 2212. Our estimation of condition to be used as a reference only is almost uncirculated.
