CR #125 NC Three Dollar Serial #18 Obsolete Civil War Treasury Bill 1863
An Obsolete North Carolina Civil War three dollar Treasury Note issued in 1863 during the Civil War for sale by Brandywine General Store with Serial #18. This is a very low number for a statewide issue. Criswell designated this treasury bill as NC #125. The vignette features Liberty standing beside Prosperity who has a cornucopia on the ground beside her. We have a grouping of these obsolete bills all have the serial number of 18 with different plate letters, great for the collector of currency with fancy serial numbers. It is difficult to get this many together at one time with obsolete currency, however we are selling them one at a time. The pictures show the front of each bill currently in our inventory to help you judge the condition yourself. We have only provided a picture of one of the backs as they all look the same except for the note with the D plate letter which has an ink spot that shows on the front and the back.
