CR #18 One Dollar Obsolete VA Civil War Tresaury Note Oct 21, 1862
A one dollar obsolete Virginia treasury note issued October 21, 1862 during the Civil War for sale by Brandywine General Store. This obsolete currency was from the second civil war issue of notes by the commonwealth, the one dollar notes were issued in 3 different dates. The October 21 civil war currency is rated as R3 meaning it is estimated between 2,501 to 5,000 still exist today, Criswell designated these obsolete bills as VA #18. The center vignette features a maiden setting on a gnarled log holding a wooden bucket. A portrait of Virginia Governor Letcher is on the left.
