Heath Flask Botanical Art Print
An archival premium Quality Art Print of the Flask Heath originally published in the Curtis Botanical Journal on June 01, 1795 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This high quality print shows a funny looking flower with a single stem and several blooms which look like bottles with a bloom on the end. The Journal described this plant as thus - The flask heath receives its name from the shape of its flowers which resemble a flask or water bottle. This specimen was raised from seeds from the Cape, the flower is a short plant with many branches which have many flowers. The flowers are covered with a glutinous substance as to look varnished, this acts as an adhesive to catch ants and flies, which the flower evidently eats. Erica Ampullacea. Botanical art print #23
