An archival premium Quality art Print of Philip Herbert the 7th Earl of Pembroke Portrait by John Michael Wright for sale by Brandywine General Store. This oil on canvas was completed by the artist in the year 1660 when the subject was around 8 years old. The size of the original artwork is 51 by 42 inches. Philip Herbert is portrayed in this painting being dressed in the robes of the Order of the Bath with his gown in a wooded landscape with a horse and equerry beyond. It is hard to imagine by looking at this portrait, but Philip was prone to fits of homicidal mania, especially when he got drunk. He was a convicted murderer and was suspected in a couple more murders that were never actually proven. King Charles II had him committed to the Tower of London for uttering such blasphemous words that were not fit to repeat in public. Philip Herbert lived from 1652 to 1683. Famous People art print #39
