Poughkeepsie NY Obsolete ten cent city scrip 1862
An obsolete ten cent scrip note issued by the city of Poughkeepsie New York on July 1st, 1862 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This obsolete currency is small, only measures around 2 by 3 1/2 inches, it has a small vignette in the center of horses eating in the stables. Farmers and Manufacturers Bank is printed over the top of Poughkeepsie, which were most likely taking care of the city's account. Our estimation of grade is very fine with a little crispness left.
