Richmond VA Bank of Commonwealth 5.00 Obsolete Note 1857
A five dollar Bank of the Commonwealth obsolete banknote issued around 1857 from Richmond Virginia for sale by Brandywine General Store. This is one of the nice red tint notes produced by this institution with an agricultural scene and a small oval portrait of George Washington. The obsolete note shows considerable wear and our estimation of grade would be very good, we are guessing at the date as it is to worn to read but could possibly be 1857.
