Richmond VA Bank of the Commonwealth $1.25 obsolete currency 1862
A one dollar and quarter obsolete currency bill issued by the Bank of the Commonwealth in Richmond Virginia during the Civil War on June 04 1862 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This is a simple typeset obsolete note in an odd denomination that would have been used in the South during the Civil War. In the VA reference book on obsolete currency this $1.25 bill is rated on the rarity scale at R1 which means 200 or more examples are thought to still exist today. Our estimation of condition to be used as a reference only is very fine. The pictures show the front and back of the actual Richmond Virginia obsolete currency that is for sale.
