The size of this original oil on canvas was 281 by 155 centimeters. Tiepolo portrays the Virgin Mary on a Globe of the World and the Crescent Moon, while stepping on the serpent of original sin and crowned by the Dove of the Holy Ghost. She is surrounded by Angels and some of her other customary symbols, including a spray of lilies, a palm branch, a fountain and mirror. The painting shows the traditional manner of representing the Virgin's Immaculate Conception, which occurred without the Original Sin.
