An archival premium Quality Art Print of a Brigham Young Portrait from 1865 Albumen Print for sale by Brandywine General Store. The original albumen silver print was taken by Charles William Carter and is now in the National Portrait Gallery in the Smithsonian Institute. Brigham Young was born June 01, 1801, he converted to the Mormon religion in 1832 and rose in ranks to 2nd only to Joseph Smith. When Smith was killed, Brigham Young then became the leader. He served as President of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints from 1847 until his death 30 years later on August 29, 1877. He founded Salt Lake City and was the first Governor of the Utah Territory. Brigham Young was a polygamist and was reported to have had a total of 55 wives with a total of 56 children.
