Badlands National Park Fortress Formation Art Print
An Art Print of a fortress looking formation in the Badlands National Park in South Dakota for sale by Brandywine General Store. This formation is reminiscent of some ancient fortress village with a huge pyramid in the left background, reminiscent of some scene out of Egypt. This area was named by the Lakota Indians, when first encountering the striking moon like landscape, they aptly called the area "mako sica" or bad land. Approximately half of the 244,000 acres of the Badlands National Park lies within the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and contains several sites that are considered sacred to the Oglala Lakota.
