Convolvulus Tricolor or Bindweed Botanical Art Print
An archival premium Quality Art Print of the Convolvulus Tricolor which is also known as the small convolvulus or bindweed for sale by Brandywine General Store. This was plate or picture number 27 in the first volume of The Curtis Botanical Magazine drawn around 1787. The picture shows a stem of the plant with a large round blue bloom, another bloom that is half way open and two buds. Curtis describes the Convolvulus Tricolor or bindweed thus "A very pretty annual which is a native of Spain, Portugal and Sicily which is very commonly cultivated in gardens. The most usual colors of the blossoms are blue, white and yellow, hence the name of tricolor, but there are other variations. The whole plant in general is hairy and is proagated by seeds which should be sown on the flower borders in the spring, where the plants are to remain.
