An original premium quality art print of Fry Farm with Fall Colors in Gettysburg National Military Park for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our archival civil war artwork features a colorful landscape of the red Fry Barn and the house which is partially hidden by trees. The mountain behind is covered in fall splendor. The Fry Farm was heavily damaged during the Battle of Gettysburg with the Fry family receiving very little for the damages from the Government. After the war, Peter Fry sold the farm and it was bought by an African American Basil Biggs, a butcher by trade. He was paid by the Government to exhume Union Soldiers and relocate them to Gettysburg National Cemetery for which he was paid 1.25 per body. Picture #1320 an original Gettysburg civil war art print made from a photograph in the Brandywine collection.
