An archival premium Quality art Print of Burning Windmill in Stege by Johan Christian Dahl for sale by Brandywine General Store. This famous Norwegian artist painted this oil on canvas in 1856 with the size of the original being 27 by 35 inches which now hangs in a museum in Norway. Stege is the largest town on the island of Mon in Southeast Denmark with a current population of 3800. This was once a prosperous herring fishing port but is now most famous for tourism. This scene shows the windmill in with fiery red flames coming out of the top. You can see a wagon along the water probably filled with water racing to get to the fire, another wagon and man is already on the hill, but they are going to be to late, as the windmill is already in full flame. Across the waters is the town of Stege with tall sailing ships which have probably been out on a fishing run. Famous Artists art print #205
