Our artwork is reproduced from a lithograph published by F. W. Greenhough of Philadelphia in the year 1838. Keokuk lived from 1767 to 1848 and is mainly known for his cooperation with the US Government which led to the war with Blackhawk. Keokuk was not born into cheifdom but earned his way into the top office. He was described as a shrewd politic man as well as a brave one and he possesses great weight of character in the Sauk national councils. Wild West art print #08
