Rousseau Henri - Old Man Junier's Trap Art Print
An archival premium Quality art Print of Old Man Junier's Trap by Henri Rousseau for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artist finished this oil on canvas in the year 1908. The size of the original naive work of art was 38 by 51 inches. Claude Junier and his wife ran a grocery store near where Rousseau lived. The neighbors became close friends and in 1908 Rousseau painted this family portrait of the Junier family. Mr Junier and Rousseau himself are setting in the front seat. In the back is Mrs Junier holding the daughter of her nephew, while on the right is her niece Lea Junier. Three family dogs are also in this portrait, domestic animals were a rare occurrence in Rousseaus works. A friend asked Rousseau if the space underneath the trap was big enough for the dog that he painted there and the artist replied "this is how it has to be". Famous artists print #165
