Rubens, Peter Paul - The Garden of Love Art Print
An archival premium Quality Art Print of The Garden of Love by Peter Paul Rubens for sale by Brandywine General Store. This was one of Ruben's most admired and most copied works, painted around the year 1632. Supposed to be painted as a celebration of marriage, but in all likelihood was most likely a tribute to Helena Fourment, his young and beautiful second wife, whom he married in 1630. The picture shows couples playing games in a lavish garden in front a a large stone building, while others listen to a singer and lute player. This could be in front of Rubens home and a self portrait with friends. In early auction catalogs of this painting, the title was listed as Ruben's Family. Old Masters art print #01
