Schaep Henri Adolphe - Shipwreck art print
An archival premium Quality art Print of Shipwreck by Henri Adolphe Schaep for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artist finished this oil on canvas in the year 1857 with the original size being 33 by 22 inches and now hangs in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The scene is very realistic, you can almost feel the terror of the survivors of this wrecked ship. The whole seascape is in the middle of the storm with huge waves that have the big ship up almost on its side with the mast and sails torn off. The survivors are in a row boat, which is full and a couple men are hanging on the top part of the mast, hoping that rescue will soon be on the way.
