Vuillard, Edouard - Pot of Flowers Art Print
An archival premium Quality Print of Pot of Flowers by Edouard Vuillard or better known in French as Le Pot de Fleurs for sale by Brandywine General Store. The original oil on mill board which measures 19 by 24 inches was completed in 1900 and now hangs in the National Gallery of Scotland. The artist selected much of his material from the small Paris apartment, which he shared with his Mother. In painting common and familiar subjects he would often choose unusual angles and compositions to set his paintings apart with a distinctive look. Like many of his still life paintings, this one has a casual appearance rather than a staged or posed arrangement of objects set up specifically for drawing. The stack of canvases on the left confirm this is a view of the artist's studio, while the pot of flowers look they are violets with blankets to the left and a desk of some kind on the right side.
