An archival art print of a Holbert Horse Importing Farm Advertisement from 1880 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This beautiful farm shows all the barns of this importing business that was located in Greely, Iowa. In addition to the barns, you can see all the square green hay fields in the distance, one of these fields is filled with what is probably fruit trees. This was an up to date establishment as you can also see a windmill with which they probably got electricity to pump the water for the horses to drink. The breeds of horses that this firm had are painted on the barns, some of the more expensive horses they had were Percherons, Belgians and English Shires, then the more common work and farm horses such as draft, coach and hackney horses. Holbert Horses were famous throughout Europe, Canada and all of the United States. The last person to work for this firm was Bob Brady. His sons became famous in the horse world on their own by becoming horse handlers and drivers of the Budweiser Clydesdale team. Picture #66 an archival, premium advertising print
