1971-S Silver Eisenhower Dollar PCGS Proof 69 Deep Cameo
A 1971-S Silver Eisenhower Dollar which has been certified by PCGS at Proof 69 Deep Cameo. As of this sales listing PCGS has certified 24,792 of these dollars in Proof 69 while a miniscule 37 have been certified higher at the perfect 70 level. Due to the large size of this coin, it was hard for the mint to make a perfect coin. Due to the rarity of the 70 graded coin, the book value is almost 3 thousand dollars. It looks like as more collectors begin to collect certified coins, the prices between the 69 and 70 coins will need to equalize somewhat. Any scratches or blemishes you see are on the holder and not the coin, keep in mind our images are magnified about 10 times which makes the least flaw on the plastic look much worse than it actually is. This large dollar coin is also silver in color, but modern proofs with their shiny glossy surfaces, even though among the most beautiful of the coins, reflect all the light and make the coins look black when photographed. Rest assured the coin you purchase will look great, it has to since it is in a PCGS 69 holder. We have more than one of these 1971-S Ike Silver Dollars in PCGS Proof 69 DCAM condition so you might receive a different PCGS certification number.
