Chattanooga Bank of East Tennessee Twenty Dollar Obsolete banknote 1855
An obsolete twenty dollar banknote from the Chattanooga branch of the Bank of East Tennessee dated 1855 for sale by Brandywine General Store. The reputable establishment from which we bought this obsolete bill graded it at very fine with the comment that these bills from the Chattanooga branch are more scarce than ones from the Jonesboro branch. The Chattanooga branch opened up in late 1854 making this among the first of the notes from this branch as it is dated January 1st, 1855. The serial number is 2966. This bill is adorned with an oval portrait of Shakespeare at the left while Bacchus is on the right.
