CR #25 Georgia Obsolete ten dollar Civil War Treasury Note 1864
An obsolete Georgia ten dollar note issued during the Civil War from Milledgeville GA on April 6, 1864 for sale by Brandywine General Store. The vignette on the Georgia obsolete currency features Moneta seated by a chest while staring out at the GA coat of Arms. Criswell designated this civil war currency as Cr #25, which means it has the small plate letter. I am not definite on the size of the plate letter, but it appears to be the smaller one. The condition of this obsolete treasury note in almost uncirculated with very nice dark printing, but unfortunately there are 2 large splits caused by ink erosion. One is through the date and the other is on the right signature that is for the treasurer. The pictures show the front and back of the actual ten dollar Georgia obsolete money that is for sale.
