Caravaggio - The Entombment of Christ art print
An archival premium Quality Art Print of The Entombment of Christ painted by Italian Baroque artist Caravaggio in 1603 for sale by Brandywine General Store. This oil on canvas is Caravaggio's most monumental and admired altarpiece and is now in the Vaitcan collection. The upper part of Christ's body is supported by John the Evangelist or possibly Joseph of Arimathea while the legs are carried by St. Nicodemus who is thought to have removed the nails from Christ's feet while he was on the Cross. The three women from left to right are the Virgin Mary depicted as an elderly Nun, center is Mary Magdalene and on the right is Mary of Clopas, a sister of the Virgin Mary.
