Cezanne, Paul - View of Gardanne Art Print
An archival premium Quality art Print of A View of Gardanne by Paul Cezanne for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artist finished this oil and conte crayon on canvas in 1885 or 1886 with the original size being 36 by 29 inches. Gardanne was a hill town near Aix - en - Provence, where Cezanne worked in the fall of 1885 and most of the entire year of 1886. This is one of three views of this town that he painted while here, this canvas is not quite finished but still has appeal as it is. This copy is currently at the Brooklyn Museum. The artist mixes the block geometries of the town buildings with the curling organic forms of rolling hills and vegetation. The shifting planes of the angular roofs and shaded facades were experiments of the Cubists in the early 20th century of which this is an example. Famous Artists print #125
