CR #09 Virginia Obsolete ten Dollar Treasury Note 1862 Fine
A ten dollar obsolete treasury note from the commonwealth of Virginia issued October 15, 1862 from the second issue of Bills issued by VA during the Civil War for sale by Brandywine General Store. The left vignette is a portrait of Thor on a shield, in the center is Prosperity with a cornucopia flanked by 2 green X protectors. The right portrait is Governor John Floyd. The serial number is 4578. Criswell ranked this Southern Money as CR #09 which means it was the 10.00 treasury note that was printed on paper watermarked with a TEN. Our estimate of grade, to be used as reference only, is fine with a small tear and large paper wrinkle on the left and an aperture on the right. The pictures show the actual front and back of the Virginia obsolete civil war treasury bill that is for sale.
