An archival premium quality art print of On a Sailing Ship by David Caspar Friedrich painted between 1818 and 1820 for sale by Brandywine General Store. The original size of this oil on canvas is 28 by 22 inches and is now located at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg Russia. This canvas was rare for Friedrich in that is shows a representation of a real time event. It was painted just after the artist's honeymoon, a journey around Germany. It is thought that the figures in the boat are supposed to represent the artist and his wife, Caroline Bommer, the 25 year old daughter of a Dresden dyer. Famous Artists print #10
