A fifteen cents obsolete scrip from the The City of Newark New Jersey issued during the civil war on August 01, 1862. This change note has dark orange bars and edges. We estimate the grade at choice very fine with a nice appearance, but seems to have been mounted with evidence only showing on the back. The shinplaster states that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Newark, NJ will pay to bearer one year after date fifteen cents for value received at the Treasurer's office.
