Pharbitis Purging Blue and Purple Vine Botanical Print
An archival premium quality art print of the Purging Pharbitis from Curtis Botanical Magazine for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artwork features a Blue and Purple flowering vine which looks a lot like our present day morning glory. This plant was described as having a milky resinous juice which was used as a purgative when this volume was written. However the syrup was very active and due to its drastic nature, it was to be used with great caution. The purging pharbits was native to Puerto Rico, New Grenada, Saint Domingo and Mexico. Pharbitis Cathartica - This botanical print reproduction was taken from the Curtis Botanical Magazine, Volume 73 from the year 1847. Botanical art print #02
