Brandywine General Store
A Museum Quality Art Print of Rock Formations and Cedar Trees in Badlands Park in South Dakota for sale by Brandywine General Store. This scenic landscape shows a long rock formation with many turrets along the top, in front of these formations are many cedar trees, all under a deep blue sky full of white clouds. The name of this SD park comes from the Lakota Indians "Mako Sica' which meant land bad. Badlands National Park contains 244,000 acres of ground including sharply eroded buttes pinnacles and spires along with the largest protected mixed grass prairie in the US. This land has been so beaten and ravaged by nature's wind and water that it has become picturesque. The erosion of the Badlands reveals sedimentary layers of many different colors including purple and yellow shale, tan and grays from the sand and gravel, red and oranges from iron oxides and whites from volcanic ash. This all mixes together to make a very unique and colorful place. Picture #66 an archival landscape print made from a photograph in the Highsmith Collection.
