A fairly complete provenance is known about this landscape, the first owner was the brother of Van Gogh, Theo who owned it from 1890 - 1891, then passed to Johanna Van Gogh Bonger of Amsterdam who owned it until 1925 when it passed onto W. V. Van Gogh of Laren, Netherlands who had possession until 1962 when the Van Gogh Foundation acquired the painting and had it until 1973 when it passed onto the hands of the Van Gogh Museum who still own the painting.
