An archival premium quality art print of Wheat Field with Cypress Trees painted by Vincent Van Gogh for sale by Brandywine General Store. The artist painted this canvas in 1889 while he was a patient at the St. Remy mental asylum. Van Gogh painted three different versions of this scene with just subtle differences, this is the version he painted in September 1889 and is now located at the National Gallery in London England. The original canvas measures 28.4 by 35.8 inches in size and is a post impressionist work with striking color, emphatic brush work and contoured forms, Van Gogh regarded this as one of his best summer paintings. He wrote his brother Theo "I have a canvas of cypresses with some ears of wheat, some poppies and a blue sky like a piece of Scotch plaid..." Author H. W. Janson described the painting thus " the field is like a stormy sea, the trees spring flame like from the ground and the hills and clouds heave with the same surge of motion. Every stroke stands out boldly in a long ribbon of strong, unmixed color". Famous artists print #11
