Mr. Woolson was the last known surviving veteran to serve in the Union Army during the Civil War. There were a couple Confederate Soldiers still living but they were unverified. Albert Woolson was a drummer boy for the 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery Regiment He died in 1956 at the age of 106 years.
