A Museum Quality Art Print of the Capitol Building at Williamsburg a Close View of the Back for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our historic archival print shows the back of the Capitol with the balcony at an upstairs door which the Governor could probably go out and enjoy the view in the morning. The British Flag is also seen flying on top of the cupola. The Capitol of Virginia was at Williamsburg until the Revolutionary War began in 1776 when Governor Thomas Jefferson urged the seat of government be moved to Richmond where the Virginia General Assembly was convened in 1780. The last meeting in the old Capitol was December 24, 1779. Picture #475 a historical scenic landscape print by Brandywine General Store.
