Rockingham County VA Courthouse Art Print
A Museum Quality Art Print of the Rockingham County Courthouse located in Harrisonburg Virginia for sale by Brandywine General Store. This grand courthouse is the fifth one to serve the county of Rockingham. The large bluestone structure was built in 1896 and dominates court square. This building was built about twenty years after the fourth one was built, the county was growing fast and needed more room for their government. The cost of this courthouse was 97,000, it underwent major renovation during 1931 at a cost of 93,000 which was almost as much as the courthouse itself. New windows and air conditioning were added in the 1990s. During the construction of this courthouse three other buildings in court square were razed including two story clerk's office, the telegraph office and the Rescue hand pumper and council chamber building.
