California is still being shown as an island off the west coast of America. The beautiful cartouches include Niagara Falls and a view of the Dutch trading port at the Cape of Good Hope, set in an elaborate border with monkeys and wild cats and crowned with the plan of the fort. Mexico City is surrounded by scenes of native life and the Spanish conquest of the native Aztecs as well as images of the Temple of the sun and a mining operation.
