Rockingham County VA Courthouse Vertical Art Print
A Museum Quality Art Print of the Rockingham County Courthouse in Harrisonburg VA for sale by Brandywine General Store. Our premium archival artwork shows the 5th courthouse to serve the residents of Rockingham county VA and was built in 1896 at a cost of 96,826.00. This large bluestone structure is the centerpiece of what is called court square in the county seat of Rockingham. Court Square, up until around the middle of the 1970s, was the place to go when you went to Harrisonburg. All of the retail stores and most of the restaurants in the city were located in court square or in close proximity. However during the decade of the 70s the outskirts started growing to the city and the mall and big box stores were built in the suburbs of the city and court square slowly went into decline. However now in recent years the area is starting to acquire little shops and specialty stores, but the courthouse has remained the cornerstone of courthouse square throughout the last century. Picture #159 an original scenic historical print by Brandywine General Store.
