Spruce Trees, Blueberries and Grasses on Dolly Sods Art Print
An original premium Quality Art Print of Spruce Trees, Blueberries and Grasses on Dolly Sods for sale by Brandywine General Store. This scenic landscape shows the beautiful colors that occur in the fall season in the higher elevations of the Mountain State of West Virginia. This picture was taken on top of Dolly Sods which is at an elevation of over 4,000 feet. In the foreground you can see the grasses and the reds of the wild blueberry bushes which are in abundance in the Dolly Sods. More towards the middle are the spruce trees, scrub oaks and other various small shrubs that provide a lot of different color than the reds of the blueberries. It takes centuries for trees to grow to a large height on Dolly Sods because of the harsh winter climate, this entire area was clear cut of timber about a century ago, so that is why there is no large timber on this high elevation plateau. In the far back distance you can see a large hill with more of the smaller scrub, but colorful trees. Picture #279 an original photographic scenic print by Brandywine General Store.
